International construction group Kajima Urban Development were setting up shop in the UK and asked us to develop new office suites, board rooms and a bespoke reception area for them.
The JAS Works approach
Essentially, the boardroom and executive offices needed absolute privacy. We achieved sound privacy using full height double glazing, with narrow metal framing to give the impression of continuous glass, and visual privacy with adjustable silver blinds. Both design solutions also enhanced the office's natural light. In meeting rooms, we applied a magnetic wall covering and writing surface from floor to ceiling on two walls so that staff could display multiple drawings using magnets and write directly on the walls with special wipe-clean marker pens.
Project Completion
KUD now have a prestigious and functional UK meeting area. There's a welcoming reception with large cloakroom and space for transatlantic travel bags. And the glazed executive offices have an open feel that improves communication across the office and gives privacy when needed. |
